In order to determine the maximum price of a home you can purchase with a Texas Vet or VA loan, we need to walk you through the pre-qualification process. This includes reviewing your income, assets, and liabilities. Using this information, we can estimate the mortgage payment you will qualify for, which subsequently calculates an estimated loan amount and purchase price a home you will be able to buy.
For Veterans with full entitlement available who want to purchase a home, as of Jan 1, 2020 there is no loan limit under the VA Loan Program. However, most lenders have implemented their own loan limit caps for this program. At Guaranteed Rate, we allow for financing over the conforming limit of $510,400. However, for loan amounts over $510,400 please contact the VA Loan Team to see what your down payment requirement would be, if any.
The Texas Vet Mortgage limit as of January 5, 2020 is $484,350. Being Texas Vet or VA eligible does not automatically qualify a Veteran for a mortgage up to these amounts. You still must qualify based on your income, assets, and liabilities, and if applicable we would include your spouse’s as well.
